Hey everyone woke up this morning feeling great. For breakfast I had a whole wheat english muffin with peanut butter and a glass of skim milk. Today was my kids’ first day back to school so everyone was up on time. Took a few pictures and off to school they went. It was nice for me cause I took off the 1st hour of work today so I could get the kids on the bus. Today at work I had to do a timing belt on a dual overhead cam 2001 PT cruiser 2.4 cylinder (O__O). Needless to say I was up and down all day long. I was lying down on my back in and out and crouched over the engine for hours. At 10:30 I had my snack P90X Protein Bar it was a good time to break cause at that point I had the motor all apart and ready for reassembling !!!!! When you are working as hard as I do when it comes time for the snack break the Protein bar really kicks you into overdrive.
Considering if you don’t properly line up the timing marks when you go to start the car it will bend the valves or cause some horrible damage to the motor. I did finish the vehicle before I left work today. Guess what/// the motor ran fine cause I am a 5 Star Technican and thats what I do !!!!!!!!!!! My fingers are very sore from all the wrench turning my knees,back, and arms feel a bit locked up from working very hard today. Lunch break was a Steak salad with fat free thousand island dressing Remember 2 spoons fulls don’t put to much onto the lettuce you don’t want to overdue it.The guide does tell you to use only 2 so thats how much I use. My afternoon snack was 3 slices of turkey. Came home had Noodles with sauce and a salad with carrots and spinach for dinner. My family and I played a board game after we finished dinner, I won the game!!!! Then the kids went off to bed so from there I started my workout.
I was feeling these excercises tonight. The warrior holds are very intense having to hold these forms. As you twist and turn for this workout you can feel your body opening up in a good way. You feel great when moving around all the body parts that in a normal day you wouldn’t even think to use. After the first hour goes by it slows down to less intense routines this is were my body felt at rest. More relaxed after moving in those harder Warriors. In the last 30 minutes or so I recommend to all of you who are doing this to really Bring IT!!! You will fell it by the end of the workout that your body has been working. For me I’m a little sore cause like I said today I worked on my back so my back is feeling it. Concrete shop floor and back don’t make a good workout, but the Yoga Manduka mat work’s very well for me at my house. To bad i can’t use it at my work when I’m working on cars LOL….. I had a scrambler for breakfast with a glass of OJ. These scramblers are a great treat to have every few days. They really give you the energy you need in the morning. For my AM snack I had a recovery drink, it really hit the spot considering how hot it was in the shop. Lunch was turkey salad. It was HUGE!!!! Could barely finish it, it was damn good though. I made more than my fair share of hours at work today….all on one car. Didn’t feel drained at all from last night’s workout. I remember last week I had felt sore and tired. For dinner we tried the broccoli and beef stir fry from the nutrition guide. My kids even ate it and they’re pretty picky about chinese food, no matter what kind it is. Today’s workout was shoulders, arms, and abs. I used my bands again during the exercises. I tried adding an extra 2-5 reps from last weeks exercises. I just wanted to try to BRING IT a little better. The wide flys are hard as hell. You have to switch from lifting front and sideways. Very very hard! I’ve been sleeping better this last week. I haven’t been waking up with as much back pain as I used to. I think it has something to do with improved posture and diet. I have a lot more energy too. My wife has noticed a few changes too <wink wink> Stamina is right up there. Going into the Ab Ripper I really felt like I got into the zone. As I was doing Heels to the Heavens I felt my form improving.

Started off the day with a protein shake. I am actually starting to enjoy them. I even made this one myself this morning (usually I ask Jen to get up and make them, I’m not too good at cooking and stuff). But they taste good and it’s a hell of a lot better than the other crap I used to eat for breakfast, if I even ate breakfast. For lunch I had the shrimp stir fry with cashews. I think I like this stuff better than take out chinese. My stomach doesn’t feel like ass afterwards. My day was good. It was very very stuffy. I inhaled my fair share of diesel fumes today. We had a lot of them in the shop and it just seemed to be in the air all day. It didn’t help that it was hot as hell in the garage. Couldn’t wait to get out because Jen said she was making a turkey roast for dinner. I must say our meals are sounding a lot better these days!
Plyometrics was just like last week. Very in your face and has got to be the hardest workouts in P90X. Very tough on the legs during lunges and jumping. I do notice there is still a burn in my arms from yesterday’s workout, but not as bad as last week. I feel my body becoming used to this kind of training. Did a lot better with the rock start jumps this week. I am paying more attention to their forms and trying to keep it clean. Now that I have kind of an idea of what is happening I can pay more attention to the small things. Just like last week, you really need a towel and water. You’ll see in my video how this exercise will leave you soaked. Other than that I feel great. I feel much more full of energy and I will be better for tomorrow’s workout. I chose not to get the recovery drink tonight. I don’t want to pack things on if I don’t need it. So until tomorrow!!!!!
Started off the day good. My son’s ear is doing better but the medicine they put him on turns him into a little brat. They told us it would make him cranky. Played some more WoW (World of Warcraft) this morning. Then I recorded my weekly recap for you guys. Should be up by Wednesday. After that we went to another Labor Day party. Our whole eating schedule got kind of screwed up today. Breakfast was a good start, so was my morning snack. But it all went downhill after that. We ate lunch around 4pm. So I guess that counted as lunch, afternoon snack, and dinner. So needless to say I grabbed a recovery drink after my workout today. Today was my second round of chest, back, and abs. I was able to reach my goals and do a little extra on a few moves. My wife joined in on the fun this time just to see what it’s like. She’s currently doing Tony’s 10 Minute Trainer, but she is hoping to join in on P90X when she is done. She made it through almost 50 minutes of chest and back and then had to cut out, but I was impressed to see how far she got. So it’s proof that you women can do it too. It was nice to have a partner as well. I am not anywhere close to my max amount of reps yet. I would rather do 15 with perfect form and get the most out of the moves than do 30 with crap form and end up hurting myself. I’m sure I will be sore again tomorrow for sure. Ab ripper ripped me up as usual. I let one slip during the workout, so I aplogize in advance for those that might hear it in the video. I felt a little more limber this time doing some of the moves, but not much. I still felt like I could barely move when all was said and done. It’s a good thing though people. So now I’m heading for the shower and maybe some more WoW with the wife (yes she plays too). I’ll see you all back here tomorrow for Day 9. It’s the X!!!!!
Started off the day with a good breakfast (still trying to make up for last night’s splurge). I had a cheese scrambler and 1/4 of a cantelope. Pretty good I must say. Sat around for a couple of hours this morning playing my pixel crack. For those of you who don’t know what that means, it’s means I was hooked up to World of Warcraft for most of the morning LOL! After I broke for lunch (which was the shrimp stir fry from the nutrition guide…….REALLY GOOD), my wife had to take my son to the ER. He was bitten by a spider on his right ear when he was at my father’s house. His ear swelled up 2-3 times it’s normal size and turned red/purple and was oozing nasty stuff. The doctors said it had already developed into a staff infection and the nuerotoxin from the venom was causing skin death. If left untreated it could start eating away the cartiledge on his ear. As it is now they had to drain his ear and put him on high doses of antibiotic and steroids. He should be okay, but we still have to watch him carefully.
Now that the serious stuff is out of the way, let’s talk about Kenpo X. Had a great time today with it. It was actually a fun workout. I used to take karate when I was younger and all the punches, blocks and kicks really took me back. It was very fast paced. It seemed you didn’t even really have time to wipe the sweat from your face. I liked during the intermission breaks when we did the X Flight Jumping Jacks. Those are fun. It’s basically when you jump off the ground and do a huge jumping jack in mid air. I also liked how during the last 10 reps of certain exercises you get to yell, which for me (as you know) is always a good time. The louder the better. Last night’s concert f*cking rocked! Motley Crue was awesome. Good pyrotechnics and all the good songs. My wife got an autograph from the guitarist in Nikki Sixx’s new band, Sixx AM. We were up until 4am. Good times! Today was a bit of a fudge day. It being a holiday weekend, we have had a lot of invites to BBQ’s and parties. We ate a good breakfast and lunch, stuck to the game plan. Come dinner time though it went a bit down hill. I definately had more than a few beers. But I tried to keep it smart with my pigging out. I didn’t park it in front of the snack table. I picked chicken instead of a burger or dog. I had salad as well. I’d say my major downfall was the pasta salad……oh and the piece of ice cream cake LOL! But hey, you can’t give up all the good things in life! I didn’t PIG OUT and that’s the important thing. Plus I am sticking to my workouts and maintaining a good diet the rest of the time.
Alright, workout review time. Today was legs, back, and abs. Definately hard core! My knees were feeling this one. Legs still feel like their on fire……my a** too. There were points when my quads were shaking/spasming from doing some of the moves. My back feels ripped up! Once again, worked up a nice healthy sweat. Can’t wait to see what THIS will feel like in the morning! Good thing it’s a 3 day weekend. Until next time……….BRING IT!!!!
Alright guys, like I said, today is “off day”. I am going to take full advantage of it too! I have a concert to go tonight after work so I don’t have the proper amount of time to devote to my training. So I figured today could be my off day instead of Sunday. I plan on resting as much as possible (as much as possible at a concert anyways). My body needs it though. I can’t rememebr the last time I was sore for an entire week straight. But I will see you all back here again tomorrow for Day 6. These 90 days are gonna fly!
How am I feeling today………..the upper parts of my arms are still sore. Pretty much never stopped since starting this program. Don’t get me wrong, not any sort of agonzing pain. Just a dull ache that let’s you know you’re body is working hard. With that being said, on to the Yoga X program. The poses were very difficult and I am definately not used to stretching that way. It was an hour and a half of yoga……..LOTS OF STRETCHING. I kept falling over and trying to keep up. It was a nice break from the normal grinding routine, but I still broke a slight sweat here and there. As the weeks go on I hope to improve my form and become more flexible. I loved at the end where you had to chant or whatever that was. After I finished my workout and came into my bedroom my wife and kids all started chanting (they were making fun). The kids thought it was hilarious! Tomorrow it will be my “off day”. Usually this day would be on Sunday, but I will be going to a Motley Crue concert right after work. I won’t be able to fit in my P90X workout before or after. So I will be off tomorrow and will continue on Saturday and Sunday. So I’ll talk to you all tomorrow. Kept up the trend of good eating today. I enjoyed my breakfast from the P90X Nutrition Guide of a whole wheat english muffin with peanut butter. It was good, and I didn’t expect it to be, because up until now I’ve never had a whole wheat english muffin! Decided to give up my creamer. I normally drink coffee with creamer, no sugar, but now I drink it black or add some skim milk. When I woke up this morning my quads were killing me. I was walking at a slower pace than usual at work thanks to last night’s workout being so ferocious. My arms STILL hurt from the OTHER DAY’S workout as well. When I came home from work I saw that I still had some leftover beers in my fridge. I was soooooo tempted to kick one back. But I’ll save them for another day. Today’s workout was Arms, Shoulders, and Ab Ripper X. It was very hard on my arms. I used the resistance bands for my sets as opposed to weights. Ab Ripper X seemed harder today than it was on Monday. I felt myself taking a few more breaks than usual. My legs and lower abs were still recovering from Plyometrics so it made it more difficult.
To top it all off, I was distracted from my workout because my kids kept running in and out of the room and in front of the camera. They wanted to do the workout too but they were really a pain more than a help LOL! I finished both workouts very exhausted tonight. I’ll definately be ready for bed soon because I’m really tired and very sore. See you here tomorrow.
